Working in a home for the developmentally disables requires a special blend of skills and generosity. We offer ARF administration courses for people interested in becoming an administrator in an adult residential facility. Proper Self-Administration of Medication

Learn the State approved method of assisting self- administration of medication.  Identify resources about medications that individuals are taking. Identify the Five Rights of assisting with self-admin of medication.  Learn CCL requirements for prescription, over-the-counter, and PRN medications.  Receive handouts for Medication Safety  Questionnaire, PRN log, etc.  This class is great for Administrators or anyone who assists with Medications.

Understanding Diabetes

Learn and understand the daily events that affect diabetes and take pro-active steps to keep blood sugar level  in normal range.

Basic understanding of the statutes and regulations governing care homes and Administrator and staff responsibilities

This class will clearly define the who, what, when, where and how of special incident reporting. This class will help assist service providers and their staff to understand special incident report requirements and how to incorporate the SIR process into  risk assessment planning.

Learn that time is valuable resource. Learn to analyze time usage on a regular basis and how to make the most efficient use of other people’s time. Also we will introduce you to some great tips and techniques on how to manage your own daily schedule better and how to handle frequent interruptions from others.

Become A Better Supervisor : Introduction to Delegating Tasks           
Course Fee:

Hospice Care and the Facility Hospice Care Waivers

As the population in the US ages and as new medical break through are enabling people to live longer ARF’s will find that they are retaining older clients.  Regulations state that individuals in ARF’s can stay in their home if there is a hospice care waiver.  This class will discuss hospice, the procedure for applying for hospice car waiver and duties and responsibilities of licensee and carehome staff if they choose to retain somebody who is terminally ill.

Maintaining Physical Environment of Your ARF

This class will identify administrator and staff responsibilities in keeping the physical environment of the care home safe and comfortable.  This course will discuss common areas of the home that are inspected and the types of citations that might be given if the administrator and staff fail to perform their duty.

Understanding and Avoiding Serious Deficiencies in Your ARF 

This class will enable licensees, administrators and others who are responsible for setting care home policies, training staff, supervising staff or otherwise running the home, to keep the home in substantial compliance with Title 22 regulations.

Meeting Client Needs and Services in Your ARF

This class will discuss the responsibilities carehomes have when accepting a client into their care.  We will also discuss the responsibilities carehomes have to making sure the clients medical, behavior and skill development needs are met.  Participants will learn how to create data collection tools. They will learn how to make progress reports to clients authorized representatives and ID team. And participants will learn what client records need to be maintained in the carehome and will learn how to create and maintain a separate, complete and current record for each client.

Prohibited and Restricted Health Conditions 

This class will enable licensees, administrators and others in charge of assessing clients for intake or for retention in the home.  This class will discuss what documents and procedures needs to be in place before accepting somebody with a restricted health condition and discuss which conditions under no circumstances can be admitted into ARF.

Emergency and Disaster Preparedness in Your ARF

This class is good for licensees and administrators and other in-charge to understand that a disasters can happen in carehomes and in communities that require staff to act quickly and effectively.  We will discuss disasters that could range from transporting consumers away from the home or medical emergencies that require contact with EMS services.
